Warwick Farm Best Bets

Warwick Farm will play host to seven races on Wednesday, September 16th.

The rail will be out three meters and the weather is fine in Sydney. The track should be good (4).

Race 2 @ 2:00PM over 1100m

Osamu is a three-year-old colt by Exceed and Excel who will kick start his second campaign in the second event of the day at Warwick Farm. He has twice placed second from five career starts. The son of Exceed and Excel was closely denied behind Philizzy on debut at Randwick back in January over 1150m, before progressing to black-type racing. He was beaten just 1.3 lengths behind Mamaragan in Group 2 company and a repeat of that effort should see him going very close in a race of this quality.

2 Units Each Way Osamu @ $5.00/$1.50

Race 3 @ 2:35PM over 1600m

Bucharest broke through for his maiden race win at Newcastle on debut over 1500m in impressive style on the 15th of August. The Chris Waller-trained colt then showed his class when stepping back in distance at his next start, scoring by half a length at the same track. This is another step up in grade for the talented three-year-old, but James McDonald can settle him just off the pace and be ready to pounce heading into the straight.

2 Units Bucharest @ $2.40

Race 6 @ 4:20pm over 1300m

Night Witches has managed two wins and two minor placings from nine career race start. The lightly-raced four-year-old mare returned a nice effort when third, first up over 1400m at Kembla Grange, and she should take plenty of improvement from that race. The I Am Invincible mare will have a tricky barrier to navigate, but with a good Hugh Bowman steer, she will be right in the finish at nice each-way odds.

1 Unit Each Way Night Witches @ $7.50/$2.45

Race 7 @ 4:55pm over 1400m

Rock Amore represents great value in the last race of the day at Warwick Farm. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained gelding were excellent first-up at Randwick when he ran third, beaten by just over two lengths. He will appreciate the sharp step up in distance for this assignment, and if he can overcome a wide barrier draw, he has every chance in a race of this quality. Rock Amore has seen plenty of early support in betting, suggesting he will run well.

1 Unit Each Way Rock Amore @ $5.50/$2.15
