The Group 1 Memsie Stakes is the feature race of the day at Caulfield this Saturday and a quality field of gallopers are set to take their place in the 1400m event.
This is the unofficial start of the Australian spring carnival and past winners of the race include So You Think, Makybe Diva, Phar Lap, Sunline and Manikato.
Scales Of Justice won the race in 2019 before running 5th in the Makybe Diva Stakes and then winning thr Group 2 Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley.
Behemoth was a dominant winner at Group 3 level at Morphettville first up and is the current favourite for the 2020 edition of the race.
The field is littered with Group 1 winners and is a very open betting race.
There are also four black type races on the 10-race program at Caulfield including the Group 3 McNeil Stakes, Cockram Stakes, The Heath as well as the Listed Heatherlie Handicap.
I have completed the form for the entire card at Caulfield on Saturday and my full 2020 Memsie Stakes Day Best Bets and Preview can be found here.
Race 1 @ 11:45AM over 2400m
Tavirun should be plenty fit for this assignment in the opening race of the day at Caulfield on Saturday. He started out this preparation back in May and he has been racing very consistently at his past few runs. He has a very good record at Caulfield, with three wins from five career starts here and he is one from one over the 2400m.

Race 2 @ 12:20PM over 1100m
A Good Yarn is my roughie of the day and is currently at a huge price in betting. The seven year old gelding has placed in five of his last seven starts including a dominant win at Geelong by over three lengths. $50 for a horse as consistent as this guy is worth a small each way play.

Race 5 @ 2:10PM over 2000m
Polly Grey has been unlucky to not record a win so far this prep but they flashy grey has been racing very consistently. She looks well placed again to be very competitive in a race of this quality and she should get a nice run in transit from the good draw.

Race 9 @ 4:45PM over 1400m
Arcadia Queen can improve on her first up run in the P.B Lawrence where she finished fifth. She is a high class mare with a very good winning record and with even luck she will be winning the feature race of the day.
